SPOKANE, Wash. – The #35-ranked Pepperdine women’s tennis team concluded its final regular-season road trip with a 7-0 shutout against Gonzaga. The Waves won all three doubles matches before taking the six singles matches in straight sets.

Lorraine Guillermo (Walnut, Calif./Rowland HS) and Khunpak Issara (Bangkok, Thailand/Bangkok Patana School) got the day started with an 8-2 triumph versus the Bulldog’s (9-8, 1-5 WCC) top pair of Katie Edwards and Kristina Zauere.

Guillermo and Issara, ranked #29 in the ITA doubles poll, are now a team-best 15-3 in duals this season (17-4 overall) and have won the last nine-consecutive matches.

Both the No. 2 pair of Arianna Colffer (Corona, Calif./Buena Vista) and Ali Walters (Newport Beach, Calif./Creekside Christian HS/UCLA) and the No. 3 squad comprised of Megan Moore (Portland, Ore./Jesuit HS) and Andrea Oates (Pretoria, South Africa/Pretoria HS) won their respective matches by scores of 8-5.

Pepperdine (13-6, 7-0 WCC) did not miss a beat in singles play, winning all six matches in straight sets. Oates was unstoppable on court six, downing Madeline Parker 6-0, 6-1.

Guillermo and Issara both handed in 6-2, 6-2 decisions, while Moore issued Britta Stime a 6-1, 6-2 loss.

Colffer edged Sophie Lantta in the tiebreaker in set one before finding her rhythm and taking the second frame 6-2.

Ale Granillo (Pachuca, Mexico/Instituto Hidalgo) defeated Edwards 6-2, 7-6.

The Waves wrap up the regular season at home next week. They first welcome non-conference rival Long Beach State on Friday, April 20, before entertaining WCC newcomer BYU on Saturday. Senior Day will be celebrated against the Cougars, as Oates and Walters play in their final dual at the Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center.
