Merve Asimgil returns to the Waves roster for her final year with the Waves...from Istanbul, Turkey... She is one out of four returning players and one out of seven international players... She joined the team in 2003 after deciding to choose Pepperdine's program over Fresno State's.

2004 SEASON: Competed in 21 singles matches for the Waves in 2004, including eight in the number three slot . . . Paired with Natalie Braverman to compile a 14-10 doubles record . . . Asimgil/Braverman won all three of their matches in the WCC Championships

2003 SEASON: She helped Pepperdine earn a top 40 national ranking... She played primarily at the #3 spot as a freshman... Merve boasted a record of 15-11 in singles play... She compiled a 10-11 record in doubles play.

PERSONAL: She was born November 3, 1984... Chose to Pepperdine because of its beautiful location, wonderful weather, and athletic/academic standards... Her favorite movie is What Women Want... All-time favorite athletes are tennis professionals Martina Hingis, Jennifer Capriati, and Andre Agassi.
