Chelsea Smith and Diana Lozano played many close games, but could not come away with a game and lost by the score of 8-0 at #2 doubles.
In singles play, SSC picked up three wins at #1 Barbara Oliveira, #3 Diana Lozano, and at #5 Christina Lebarre to secure the 5 points needed to win the dual and seal the match.
Coach Nelson's Comments:
"The conditions today were very hard to play in, with extreme wind. We probably had gusts of 30-35 mph at times today, but our ladies stayed calm and showed toughness by beating a good NCTC team. This is the first time ever that we have beat North Central, as they are a traditional women's powerhouse in Women's Juco tennis and i'm very proud of our girls. We've been battling injury, and even played this match without our #2 girl Cassandra Kleber, but the girls have improved tremendously over the past few weeks. We have now won 3 out of our last 4, and hope to continue that this week with some more big Jr. College matches."
