Tom Boylan joined the Sweet Briar College tennis staff as a volunteer assistant coach last year. Tom brings a vast amount of athletic and business experience to the courts and is truly an asset to the Sweet Briar Tennis Program.
Tom is passionate about the game of tennis and on the court brings with him additional skills in terms of communicating to the players the strategy and tactics of the game, both singles and doubles. He also understands the competitive motivation to be a high performing athlete.
Tom has been a member of the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) for over 10 years and is an associate member of the United States Professional Tennis Registry (USPTR). His playing experience includes numerous USTA and Club doubles tournaments and leagues both men’s and mixed.
Tom also brings experience from his position as Assistant Athletic Director for External Affairs at Cleveland State University where he was responsible for the athletic fundraising and sports marketing areas. His experience and knowledge of the inner workings of an athletic department coupled with his tennis background will serve the Sweet Briar tennis program well both on and off the court.
