Medford, Mass. – Senior co-captain Becky Bram (Winchester, Mass.) won in straight sets at No. 1 singles and teamed with freshman Jessica Knez (Weston, Mass.) for an 8-4 triumph at first doubles to lead the Tufts University Jumbos to a 6-2 win over the visiting Trinity College Bantams in women’s tennis action this afternoon.
Trinity falls to 1-4 with its second straight loss, while the Jumbos improve to 4-2 with their first win in three matches. Bantam freshman Amanda Tramont (Miami, Fla.) posted the Trinity singles win in a thrilling, three-setter and combined with classmate Sarah Gould (Longmeadow, Mass.) for an 8-4 win at No. 2 doubles. The match was played indoors due to heavy rain and the No. 6 singles match was not completed with the score tied at 1-1.
