Women's Tennis Team Downs Louisiana-Monroe, 5-2
Lady Eagles improve to 7-3

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss women's tennis team
posted a 5-2 win over Louisiana-Monroe Saturday at Tatum Park.
The Lady Eagles improved to 7-3 on the season, while ULM dropped to 7-7.
Southern Miss opened the match winning the doubles' point with wins at No.
1 and No. 2 doubles. Stephanie Dellocono and Brittany Serret defeated Noelia
Leon and Sharon Makhanya, 8-3, while Sherry Price and Lauren Gutterman
knocked off Elodie Burlet and Ana Burjaili, 8-6.
ULM's Giovanna Arrondo and Lena Satge defeated Ali Blackett and Shannon Rogers, 9-8 (7-3).
The Lady Eagles took their momentum into singles' play, winning four of the six matches.
Three of the six matches had to be decided in three sets.
Price used a first-set tie breaker on her way to a 7-6 (7-3), 6-4 win over Leon.
Ali Blackett went three sets in defeating Satge, 6-2, 5-7, 6-1, at No. 2 singles.
Stephanie Dellocono came from a set down to defeat Arrondo, 1-6, 7-5, 6-4;
and Zoe Lee downed Marion Lehmann in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 5 singles.
ULM got a win at No. 6 singles with Clark defeating Gutterman, 7-6 (8-6), 6-4.
Southern Miss returns to action Sunday, when the Lady Eagles travel to Hammond, La.,
to play Southeastern Louisiana.
