Returning home from the ITA National Indoors the Slugs battled hard up and down the lineup for a convincing 9-0 win.  Playing without Slug standout Jared Kamel, who was sidelined with the flu, everyone stepped up in this solid team effort.  Donald James played very well in filling in for Jared at two doubles where he and partner Marc Vartabedian won 8-2.  Max Ortiz and Colin Mark-Griffin got up early and won 8-4 at third doubles.  Last off in the doubles sweep were Max Liberty-Point and Ilya Gendelman who won a closely contested one break match 8-6. 

In singles Max Ortiz was first off with a 6-2,6-4 win where he dominated from the net.  The clinching match came from Colin at 4 singles where he beat former number one player Matt Liebman by scores of 7-5,6-4.  With the match in hand Max LP won 6-3,7-6 (5) at one singles followed by Marc Vartabedian who won in three at 5 singles, Slivio Chiba who won in straight sets at six singles and Ilya Gendelman who closed hard to win a closely contested match at two singles.

Next up for the Slugs is UC Davis on March 7th at Davis.
