RICHARDSON, Texas – Senior Dustin Phillips of The University of Texas at Tyler was named East Division Men’s Tennis Player of the Week by the American Southwest Conference office on Wednesday afternoon.

Phillips went 1-0 at No. 1 singles on the week and 1-1 at No. 2 singles, as well as 3-0 at No. 1 doubles with his partner, junior David Ashlock (Arlington, Texas).

The Houston native helped guide the Patriots to a 3-0 record on the week including a victory over nationally ranked Hardin-Simmons and a win in their ASC opener versus LeTourneau.

UT Tyler will return to the Summers Tennis Center on Saturday for a doubleheader. The Patriots will host Millsaps in non-conference action at 9 a.m., and then resume ASC East play at 4:30 p.m., against Louisiana College.
