Honolulu (3/11/09) – At the UH Tennis Complex, the HPU women’s tennis team fell to the University of Hawai‘i-Manoa, 4-3. The Sea Warriors led 3-2 with two singles matches in progress, but fell in one and two singles. HPU fall to 7-2 while the Rainbow Wahine improve to 4-5.

UH earned the doubles point after wins in one and two doubles. Lauren Shin and Tinka Mihova topped Alyssa Nafarrete and Dasha Lagmay 8-6 in three doubles for the lone Sea Warrior win.

HPU held a 3-2 lead in singles with two matches still progress. The Sea Warriors, however, would not be able to hold the lead as Zora Vlckova fell in one singles to Sophie Kobuch (4-6, 6-3, 6-1) and ITA #45 Nina Mihova dropped the two singles match to Anja-Vanessa Peter. Mihova fell 7-6 (4), 7-5.

HPU take on Division I Washington State next Wednesday, March 18. Start time is set for 9:00 a.m. at the UH Tennis Complex.
