Mar. 14, 2009 -- The North Central College men's tennis team swept all three doubles matches, using that momentum to cruise to a 6-3 dual meet win over Augustana College inside the Naperville Tennis Club, in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin opener for both teams.

All three doubles matches were tightly contested with Sam Sweeney and Matt Boguslawski recording the 8-6 win over Augustana's No. 1 tandem of Chris Mullin and Adam DeSimone. It was the duo's second straight win, improving their season record to 3-1. In No. 2 doubles, Josh Clay and Eric McKee pulled out the 9-7 win over Kyle Doyle and Kurtis Carls while the No. 3 team of Chris Bennorth and Robert Lodding took care of buisiness with an 8-6 win over Greg Ruth and Doug Faber to complete the sweep.

In singles play, Sam Sweeney remained perfect in No. 1 action, dismantling Mullin, 6-4, 6-2, improving his singles record to 4-0. Boguslawski need three sets to put away the Viking's Ruth in No.2 action, winning 4-6, 7-5, (10-4). Lodding record the team's third singles win of the night, winning at the No. 6 position with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Chris Fowler.

The win evens the Cardinals overall record to 2-2 on the year while improving to 1-0 in CCIW play while the Vikings fall to 8-6 overall and 0-1 in conference action.

North Central returns to the court on Friday, when the team ventures down to Orlando, Fla. where they will squeeze in five dual matches in five days.
