Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Boston College women's tennis team defeated the University of Massachusetts Amherst 5-0 on Wednesday evening.
The Eagles swept the doubles matches to take the point, playing in the third position Lana Krasnopolsky and Jackie Mabatah picked up a 8-0 victory, followed by Dasha Cherkasov and Lauren Cash in the No. 1 position 8-2 and Alina Sullivan and Brittany Delaney picked up the point with 8-4 victory in the No. 2 spot.
In singles competition Katharine Attwell picked up the second point of the match sweeping the No. 2 position with a (6-0, 6-0) victory over Tanisha Hodgson of UMass.
Fellow sophomore Mabatah picked up the third point of the match in the No. 4 position with a 6-1, 6-3 victory.
Freshman Katarina Gajic polished off the victory for the Eagles with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over the Minutemen's Kaitlyn Carpenter in the No. 1 position.
Senior Alina Sullivan added the extra point in the No. 3 singles spot with 6-3, 7-6(3) victory.
The Eagles travel to Georgia this weekend to continue their ACC schedule against Georgia tech on Saturday April 4.
