The Warhawk Men’s and Women’s teams held their annual banquet on Sunday to honor the team and individuals on another terrific season. The teams shattered many records again this season and each team will be heading to the NCAA tournament.
The team is saying goodbye to 7 incredible seniors that will be impossible to replace. All 7 seniors were at the Chancellor Scholar athlete GPA level, they all played a significant role in this year’s team accomplishments, they all led the team in different ways, and will certainly be missed. For the men Mike Harmatys, Alex Lowe, Alex Mory, and Erich Palecek were honored. For the women, Kara Amundson, Brittany Gering, and Jenny Woyahn were honored for their many accomplishments.
Some of the annual individual awards that were given out were:
Warhawk MVP: Kalla Schaefer and Alex Lowe
Ron Wangerin Coaches Award: Jenny Woyahn and Erich Palecek
Stanly Brink Sportsmanship Award: Samantha Bakke and Alex Mory
Most Improved: Michelle Daciolas and Kyle Halweg
Rookie of the year: Annie Smith and Mike Harmatys
Most Dedicated: Kathleen Kappel and Kelvin Caiati
Last season’s Captains Kara Amundson, Brittany Gering, Alex Lowe and Erich Palecek were honored for their efforts.
Votes were tallied for this upcoming year’s captains and they will be: Michelle Daciolas and Ingrid Stensvaag for the ladies and a three headed monster for the men: Kelvin Caiati, Danny Glinert, and Kyle Halweg.
