<strong>April Goode joins the UNF staff after spending the past four years as the Assistant Sports Information Director at High Point University<br /> <br /> JACKSONVILLE, Fla. </strong>(June 15, 2009) - University of North Florida Assistant Athletics Director for Media Relations, Jeff Wuerth, announced today the hiring of April Goode as Assistant Director for Athletics Media Relations.<br /> <br /> Goode joins the UNF staff after spending the past four years as the Assistant Sports Information Director at High Point University, where she served as the primary media contact for women's volleyball, women's basketball, men's and women's cross country and track and field. She has also handled the communication needs for men's soccer and men's and women's tennis. In addition, Goode handled much of the graphic design needs of the HPU athletic department.<br /> <br /> This past season, Goode oversaw all of the communication needs for the 2009 Big South Women's Basketball Tournament, hosted by High Point University.<br /> <br /> "We are very excited to have April join the UNF Athletics Media Relations department," Wuerth said. "She brings a great skill set and will be a valuable addition to the athletics department, under the direction of new Director of Athletics Lee Moon, as UNF takes the exciting step forward as a full Division I athletics member."<br /> <br /> Goode will serve as the primary media contact for UNF's women's basketball team as well as the Ospreys volleyball team. She will also handle the publication needs for the department. "I am excited about the opportunity to work at the University of North Florida," said Goode. "As the teams enter their first year of post-season eligibility, it is an exciting time at UNF that really radiates from the staff and Coach Moon and I am looking forward to being a part of that."<br /> <br /> Prior to High Point, Goode spent two years as a graduate assistant in the sports information office at Marshall University. While with the Thundering Herd, Goode oversaw the media relations for the women's swimming team as well as the men's and women's cross country teams and women's track. She also assisted with game day operations for football, men's and women's basketball, volleyball and softball.<br /> <br /> The Meadow Bridge, W.Va. native earned her bachelor's degrees in sports management and business marketing in 2003 from High Point University.
