The Ragin' Cajun Men's Team are ready to kick off the 2009-10 season when they will play host to the Ragin' Cajun Invitational September 11-13.  Some 75 players from around the nation will compete in Four Flights of singles and 2 flights of doubles.  "This will be a great way to start our season and get us ready for the upcoming Fall tournaments.  Our goal is to get a couple of guys ranked after the Fall this year, to help give our program a little more national recognition". 

The Cajuns last year defeated 5 ranked teams that were at one point ranked inside the top 75 Nationally.  "We added 2 really good players for this year's team and we lost our number 5 player from last year with everyone else returning.  As a 2nd year Head Coach I believe we are right on schedule with being able to crack the top 60 Nationally this year.  From this point on we need show consistency which will only help our Schedule and Results".

The Cajuns have a lot of work to do with the highly competitive Southern Region.  "I am excited about the newly formed Southern Region, this is more like home for us playing against teams that are located very close, with good traditional rivalries.  Right now the Southern part of Louisiana is very healthy for tennis with so many good teams within 2 hours drive of us.  UNO made a huge leap last year, and Tulane is coming on board this year under Mark Booras.  LSU is always tough, with Nicholls State under Jim Hunter always a worthy opponent.  The climate is great right now for La tennis.  Oh yes and I need to mention Coach Green with Xavier who are turning into a NAIA powerhouse".

Look for the Cajuns to give their 2009-10 opponents this year everything they have....................................
