UT hosts its annual Texas Invitational after finishing a successful run at the ITA Texas Regional Championships.
WHAT: The Longhorns host the annual Texas Invitational, a three-day event featuring two singles draws and one doubles draw.
WHEN: Friday, Oct. 30 through Sunday, Nov. 1 (all day Friday and Saturday, with finals held Sunday morning)
WHERE: Penick-Allison Tennis Center – Austin, Texas
WHO: All 11 Longhorns are slated to compete at the ITA Texas Regional Championships. Players from Texas, Texas A&M, Baylor, Marquette, Tennessee, St. Edward’s, Lamar, Texas-Pan American, Rice, Texas-San Antonio and Texas-Arlington are slated to compete. The event features several players featured in the ITA preseason singles rankings, including #2 John-Patrick Smith (Tennessee), #6 Dimitar Kutrovsky (Texas), #46 Ed Corrie (Texas), #47 Kellen Damico (Texas), #85 Attila Bucko (Baylor), #113 Julian Bley (Baylor) and #114 Matteo Fago (Tennessee).

LAST YEAR AT THE TEXAS INVITATIONAL: Texas’ Dimitar Kutrovsky claimed the main singles draw at the 2008 Texas Invitational, and Kutrovsky teamed up with UT’s Josh Zavala to win the doubles draw.
LAST TIME OUT: Texas junior Ed Corrie captured the main singles draw at the ITA Texas Regional Championships in College Station. Corrie and classmate Kellen Damico reached the semifinals in the main doubles draw.
THE 2009-10 LONGHORNS: Texas returns four singles starters from the 2008-09 squad that put UT into the NCAA semifinals for the third time in four seasons. Senior All-American Dimitar Kutrovsky opens the season at No. 6 in the ITA national preseason singles rankings. Juniors Ed Corrie and Kellen Damico rank 46th and 47th, respectively, in the ITA singles rankings. Kutrovsky and senior Josh Zavala come in at No. 13 in the ITA doubles rankings.
