LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Jan. 20, 2010)After an up-and-down first tournament last weekend the 62nd-ranked ETSU men’s tennis team returns to action for a 5:00 p.m., contest Thursday at No. 20 Louisville inside the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.

After the nationally ranked Bucs struggled early on last Saturday and Sunday, head coach Yaser Zaatini’s club closed out the Duke Invitational by winning seven out of 10 matches against No. 70 Elon Monday.

Individually, ETSU is led by the doubles team of sophomore Sander Gille (Kuringen, Belgium), and freshman Jesus Bandres (Caracas, Venezuela). The Buccaneer duo – which is currently ranked No. 52 in the most recent ITA poll – earned top honors at Duke posting a perfect 3-0 mark over the three-day event.

Louisville welcomes the Bucs after breezing past both of its early opponents last week. The Cardinals rolled past IUPUI and Murray State 7-0 last Saturday.

Louisville is led by a trio of ranked singles players in No. 46 junior Andrew Childs, No. 80 Andrew Carter and No. 84 ranked Simon Childs.
