Muncie, Ind. -- The Eastern Illinois women's tennis squad lost their second consecutive 7-0 match over the weekend, as the Cardinals of Ball State drop the Panthers to 2-6 on the year with the clean sweep.
Eastern lost the important doubles point, as BSU won all three duo contests, but did require extra time to win at the No. 1 spot, before pulling out the 8-7 (5) win.
In singles play, no Panther was able to earn a victory, although junior Cara Huck, sophomore Annie Egan and freshman Merritt Whitley each battled their opponent in three set affairs at No. 3, No. 6 and No. 4 Singles, respectively.
Panthers return to the court on Wednesday (March 10), as IUPUI comes to town for EIU's home opener at 2 pm. Depending on the weather, the match will either be held at their own Darling Courts or inside the Lantz Fieldhouse.
