The Pearl River Lady Wildcats were only able to win one of the seven courts played against the Jones County Junior College Lady Bobcats in Ellisville Friday, falling 1-6.

The Lady Wildcats were missing two players during the match-up, causing everyone to be bumped up in the line-up.  Kasey King of Purvis, who usually competes at No.1 singles and doubles, and Emily Leverett of Raymond, who usually competes at No.5 singles and No.3 doubles, were absent.  Playing the No.1 doubles position for the day, Janae Norwood of Hattiesburg and Alyssa Wolfe of Foxworth were defeated by Mary Carole Kiewit and Meredith Johnson of Jones 8-1.  At the No.2  position, Kristen Barber of Sandy Hook and Kenyatta Epps of Yazoo City fell to Jones's Tiffany Hudson and Jillian McNeese 8-1.

In singles, Norwood played the No.1 spot and was defeated 6-0, 6-3 by Kiewit.  Wolfe moved up to the No.2 spot from her usual No.3 position and was defeated by Johnson 6-2, 6-2.  At No.4, Epps, who has been playing No.6 singles, defeated Mary Jo Goodin 6-2, 7-5 to collect the only point of the day for the Lady Wildcats.  At No.5, Brookes McInnis of Brooklyn moved back into the line-up but fell to Arlette Cochran 6-0, 6-0.

After the spring break next week, the Lady Wildcats will be on the road again on Tuesday, March 23, in Forest, taking on the East Central Lady Warriors at Gadis Park at noon.
