The Pearl River Lady Wildcats were back at home today and claimed their third win of the season, defeating the Southwest Lady Bears 7-2.
In doubles, at No.1, in the absence of Alyssa Wolfe of Foxworth, Brookes McInnis of Brooklyn paired up with Kasey King of Purvis, but they were defeated 8-0 by Morgan McKee and Morgan Matthews. At No.2, Janae Norwood of Hattiesburg and Kristen Barber of Sandy Hook defeated Ashley Brewer and Caitlin Adams 8-5. At No.3, Kenyatta Epps of Yazoo City and Emily Leverett of Raymond teamed back up to defeat Krysta Tate and Lamyra Smith 8-1.
In singles, at No.1, King defeated Matthews 6-2, 6-0; at No.2, Norwood defeated Adams 6-3, 6-0; at No.3 Laura Kramer of Hattiesburg stepped in for Wolfe but was defeated 6-3, 6-2; at No.4 Epps defeated Brewer 6-1, 6-0; at No.5 Barber defeated Tate 6-1, 6-4; and at No.6 Leverett defeated Smith 6-1, 6-0.
The Lady Wildcats are at home again tomorrow. They take on the Mississippi Gulf Coast Lady Bulldogs at 11:00 a.m.
