The Pearl River Wildcats were able to claim a victory today over the Southwest Bears, winning 5 of the 7 courts played.
In doubles, at No.1 Steven Bracey of Columbia and Roy Odom of Gautier fell to Zach Eckman and Tyler Howell 9-7. At No.2 Jordan Henry of Petal and Darnelle Sanford of Hattiesburg defeated Corey Price and Reese Duplautis 8-1. The No.3 doubles position was not played due to Southwest being short a player.
In singles, at No.1 Bracey defeated Eckman 6-2, 6-3; at No.2 Odom fell to Howell 6-2, 6-2; at No.3 Henry defeated Duplautis 6-1, 6-0; at No.4 Sanford defeated Price 6-1, 6-0; and at No.5 Dustin Slade of Waveland defeated Eli Whitaker 6-0, 6-0. The No.6 position was not played.
The Wildcats will be at home again tomorrow taking on the Mississippi Gulf Coast Bulldogs at 11:00 a.m.
