The Pearl River Wildcats went 1-1 on the road Tuesday when they traveled first to Southwest Mississippi Community College for a morning match and then to Copiah Lincoln Community College for an afternoon match.

In their morning match at Southwest, the Wildcats defeated the Southwest Bears 7-2.  In doubles, at No.1 Steven Bracey of Columbia and Roy Odom of Gautier dropped one of the two courts of the match to Zach Eckman and Tyler Howell 8-6.  The Wildcats pulled both remaining doubles courts with Jordan Henry of Petal and Darnelle Sanford of Hattiesburg defeating Corey Price and Reese Duplautis 8-1 at No.2, and the newly partnered Dustin Slade of Waveland and Tyler Szura of Lumberton defeating Eli Whitaker and John Paul Price 8-5 at No.3.

In singles, at No.1, Bracey defeated Eckman 2-6, 6-3, 10-3; at No.2, Odom fell to Howell 6-1, 6-4; at No.3, Henry defeated Duplautis 6-3, 6-3; at No.4, Sanford defeated C.Price 6-1, 6-2; at No.5, Slade defeated J.Price 6-0, 6-2; and at No.6, Szura picked up his first singles win in the line up, 6-2, 6-0 over Whitaker.

Following the conclusion of the match, the Wildcats traveled to Wesson to take on the CoLin Wolves, but were defeated 8-1.  In doubles, Bracey and Odom fell to Chicho Chaves and Reilly Miller 8-1 at No.1; at No.2, Henry and Sanford fell to Nico Osorio and Reed Rodgers 8-6; and at No.3, Slade and Szura were defeated by Colby Bass and Joey Shelton 8-4.

In singles, at No.1, Bracey was defeated by Osorio 6-2, 6-0; at No.2, Odom was defeated by Chaves 6-1, 6-0; at No.3, Henry fell to Miller 2-6, 6-2, 11-9; at No.4, Sanford collected the only win of the match for the Wildcats, defeating Rodgers 6-2, 2-6, 10-6; at No.5, Slade dropped his first singles match of the season, falling to Shelton 6-3, 3-6, 10-7; and at No.6 Szura fell to Bass 6-2, 6-4.

The Pearl River Wildcats final match of the season is scheduled for Tuesday, April 13, at home when they'll take on the Jones County Bobcats.  Play is scheduled to start at 1:00.  The Wildcats will then leave for the MACJC Men's State Tennis Championships in Tupelo on Wednesday.  Tournament play will begin on Thursday.
