College Tennis News - Pogo reaches round of 16 at Mountain Regionals

We always love to come to Las Vegas for the Mountain Regionals at this time of year, since the weather is so ideal. But unfortunately, Mother Nature and Vegas were not as kind to us this year. We have been ducking Thunderstorms and rain for the past two days.......but, I am not complaining. We still were able to get our matches in and we are having a blast with the five players that we brought down to the city that never sleeps (or is that New York?)

Never mind the weather, we had a great day. Our four players in the back draw of singles all won their two matches (Scotty Sears, Erik Sheldon, Freddy Walsh, and Michael Gilliland). In the main draw of singles, Filipp Pogostkin who is seeded 10th played with a gleem that should be syndicated on a musical television show.
Filipp (Pogo) is now in the round of 16 in singles and will play at 9am on Saturday morning.

In doubles, the team of Pogostkin and Sears lost to the #1 seed from New Mexico. I am particulary proud of Pogo and Spartacus (Scott Sears), for they were down 3-7 and scrapped and clawed their way back into the match and after winning three straight games finally fell 8-6 to the Lobos.
Our four players in the back draw will also be playing matches at 9am.
This is what we came to Vegas for, to have our players play as many matches as possible. Nothing beats the experience of playing tournament match play. We are definitely getting our money's worth.
