OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. (Sept. 22, 2010) – NYIT women’s tennis faced another tough loss Wednesday afternoon at the NYIT Tennis Complex. The Bears were swept 9-0 by the Spartans of St. Thomas Aquinas. With the loss, NYIT dropped to 0-6 overall.
The Bears fought hard in the second doubles match. Unfortunately they always trailed by one set and could not gain the upper hand. Alexis Beaumont and Sarah Vivonetto fell 8-5. St. Thomas Aquinas swept the doubles matches to take a 3-0 lead heading into singles action.
STAC also swept the singles matches to win 9-0.
The Bears return to action on Friday, Sept. 24 against the University of D.C. First serve is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at the NYIT Tennis Complex.
