TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Four members of the Alabama men’s tennis team will travel to Atlanta to compete in the Georgia Tech Invitational that will run Saturday, Oct. 1, through Monday, Oct. 3, at the Bill Moore Tennis Center. In addition, the Crimson Tide will send a pair to the D’Novo/ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla.

Among those competing in Atlanta are senior Vikram Reddy, sophomores Daniil Proskura and Carlos Taborga and freshman Stuart Kenyon, while senior Ricky Doverspike and junior Jarryd Botha will represent Alabama in Tulsa.

“We’re anxious to get back on the court this weekend and the following week as we’re involved in two great events,” said Alabama head coach Billy Pate. “The Georgia Tech tournament will feature many good teams from the Southeast and it will be good to see our guys compete for the second time this fall. I feel like we’re doing a lot of positive things from two weeks ago and in practice, but we need to see it in actual competition.”

Play will begin at the Bill Moore Tennis Center at 7 a.m. CT with the first round of doubles. It will be followed by the first two rounds of singles.

Doverspike and Botha will travel to Tulsa on Sunday and begin competing on Monday in the qualifying round of singles at the All-American Championships. In addition, the two will play in the main draw of doubles due to their preseason national ranking of No. 20.

“This will be a highly competitive national event,” Pate said. “We will see the top players in the country competing, so it will be a good challenge.”
