LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men's tennis team won its fourth straight match with a 6-1 victory over visiting Northern Arizona on Sunday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.

UNLV improved to 7-8 overall while the Lumberjacks fell to 3-8.

The Rebels earned a 1-0 lead by taking two of three doubles matches. Tamas Batyi and Johannes Markel won 8-4 over Dominic Bermudez and Pat Schimmelbauer at the second spot while Charlie Alvarado and Rene Ruegamer downed Robin Pezzutto and Robert Martin 8-2 on court three.

UNLV got four straight-set wins in singles to quickly clinch it. Batyi downed Bermudez 7-6, 6-1 at No. 3; Alvarado defeated Schimmelbauer 6-2, 7-5 at No. 4; Markel swept Martin 6-1, 6-3 at No. 5; and Willie Sublette doubled up Trevor Unger 6-3, 6-3 on court six. Two other matches went a third-set super-tiebreaker and the hosts took one as Ruegamer outlasted Pezzutto at the top position, 6-3, 2-6, 1-0 (14-12), to give his team its final point.

The Rebels are off until they host Denver on March 22 beginning at 2 p.m. Admission to all UNLV matches is free of charge.
