CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami junior Marco Stancati won his quarterfinal match, earning a spot in the semifinals of the singles consolation draw of the 2012 USTA/ITA Regional Championships in Tallahassee, Fla.
 
In the singles consolation quarterfinals, Stancati defeated Casey Kay of Georgia, 6-3, 6-0, earning the native of Napoli, Italy, a spot in the semifinals. In the Final Four, Stancati faced the fourth-seeded Mike Alford of Florida. Stancati lost, 6-1, 6-2, to end his tournament run.
 
For the tournament, Stancati was 3-2 individually, with three-straight wins in the singles consolation draw. He also paired with Wilfredo Gonzalez to win his first round doubles main draw match. See Stancati’s complete 2012 USTA/ITA Regional Championships results below.
