MORAGA, Calif. - California's Riki and Ben McLachlan withstood a challenge from the host Gaels on Tuesday in the doubles final of the USTA/ITA Northwest Regional Championships, but the Golden Bears prevailed with an 8-6 victory over Joakim Norstrom and Jesse Kiuru of Saint Mary's at the Timothy Korth Tennis Complex on the Saint Mary's campus. The regional championship clinched a berth in the upcoming USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships for the Cal brothers

With another spot at the national indoor tournament at stake, junior Ben McLachlan will play Santa Clara's John Lamble in the singles final at 2 p.m. on Wednesday.

The USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships will take place from Nov. 8-11 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y.
