SEATTLE -- The Washington men's tennis team will begin the 2013 season ranked No. 25 in the nation with the initial poll being released by the ITA. The Dawgs are coming off a 2012 season where it reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament and finished the year with a No. 28 national ranking.

Washington returns most of its talent from the successful 2012 season and has even higher expectations in 2013. Kyle McMorrow is back for his senior season, but begins the season unranked after not earning enough wins in the fall. That should soon change as the Thousand Oaks, Calif., native finished No. 28 in the nation a year ago.

Also returning for the Huskies are Marton Bots and Emmett Egger who were regionally ranked a year ago, along with Max Manthou, Viktor Farkas, Nicholas Kamisar and Jeff Hawke who all competed at the NCAA's last season.

The Dawgs open the 2012 season by hosting Gonzaga on January 12, at 5 p.m. The initial match at the Nordstrom Tennis Center is followed by a tough stretch of ranked teams, including at No. 17 Tulsa and No. 23 Texas on the road and then hosting No. 7 Pepperdine on January 23.

The big event this winter will be the ITA National Team Indoor Championships hosted by the Huskies at the Nordstrom Tennis Center. The annual team event will be February 15-18 as the Dawgs host some of the top teams in the country. Stay tuned to GoHuskies.com for much more information on the exciting event coming to Seattle.
