SAVANNAH, Ga. - The defending NCAA Division II National Champion Armstrong Atlantic State University women's tennis team sits atop the first Campbell/ITA Division II rankings release of the 2012-13 season, announced late Friday by the ITA.

The Pirates top the first ranking by the organization, which takes into account all action in the Fall, including the ITA Division II Regional and National Championships. BYU-Hawai'i is ranked second, followed by Abilene Christian, Lynn and Barry.

In the singles rankings, junior Barbora Krtickova is ranked No. 2 nationally after her runner-up performance in the ITA Division II National Championships in October. Junior Aleksandra Filipovski is ranked No. 8, while junior Olga Kalodzitsa is ranked No. 13 and junior Marlen Hacke is ranked No. 14, giving the Pirates four singles players in the Top 15 nationally.

Sophomore Clara Perez rounds out the Armstrong singles rankings, checking in at No. 33.

In doubles rankings, Krtickova and Filipovski are No. 1 thanks to their ITA Division II and Super Bowl of Small College Tennis titles in the Fall. It is the first time that the duo have been ranked No. 1.

Hacke and Kalodzitsa check in at No. 6, their highest ranking ever as well.
