USC's tennis teams followed up a combined sweep of opponents at the ITA Kick-Off Weekend with a sweep of this week's Pac-12 Player of the Week awards. Junior Emilio Gomez had picked up his second career weekly honor on the men's side, while Giuliana Olmos has her first award in her first season of competition with the Women of Troy.

Emilio Gomez held down the No. 1 singles position with precision last weekend as the USC men made a winning run as host of the ITA Kick-Off Weekend. Gomez won in straight sets in both his singles matches, lifting USC to 3-0 leads against both San Diego State and Fresno State. He was similarly strong in the doubles realm, teaming up with Eric Johnson in the ITA Kick-Off final for an 8-1 victory that sparked USC's winning run in the match so qualify the Trojans for the ITA National Team Indoor Championships next month.

Playing in her first season of action as a Trojan, Giuliana Olmos ripped through her opponents at the ITA Kick-Off Weekend as teams rode out rainy mornings to get competition complete this weekend at Marks Stadium. Olmos had a near-shutout with a 6-1, 6-0 victory in her No. 3 singles match to help USC power up for a 6-0 sweep of Akron. She was a part of the doubles clincher in the next day's match vs. UC Irvine, teaming up with Danielle Lao for the first time this year for an 8-1 win that put USC up 1-0 in the match against the Anteaters. She'd later record yet another second-set shutout in her singles match vs. UCI, putting the Trojans up 3-0 with her 6-3, 6-0 victory again from the No. 3 position.

The USC men have five matches this week, beginning today (Jan. 29) with a doubleheader against Cal Poly and UC Irvine. The Trojans will host Texas at 3 p.m. on Friday (Feb. 1) and have another doubleheader on Sunday (Feb. 3) against San Francisco and LMU.

The USC women head to Pepperdine on Wednesday (Jan. 30) before returning home to Marks Stadium on Saturday (Feb. 2) to face Fresno State at 12 p.m.
