STARKVILLE, Miss. – Following an impressive 7-0 win in their 2013 opening match against Southern Miss Tuesday, the Mississippi State Lady Bulldogs are set to welcome the Lady Cougars of Houston Sunday afternoon. Match time is set for 1 p.m. at State's A.J. Pitts Tennis Centre.

Freshmen Sarai Flores and Lien Van Geel paired up to post the first victory of this past Tuesday's win over the Golden Eagles, defeating USM’s Macie Case and Emily Nettles in an 8-0 decision at the No. 3 position. Georgiana Patrasc, another true freshman for the Lady Bulldogs, clinched the team’s first victory of the season with a 6-0, 6-2 win against Golden Eagle Kate Lanier on court 1. In fact, all Lady Bulldogs won in straight-set fashion against USM.

The Lady Cougars of Houston currently stand at 4-1 on the spring season, their most recent match being a 7-0 win against Southern Miss in Hattiesburg Saturday.
