RALEIGH, N.C. - Indiana men's tennis opened the dual meet season at No. 40 NC State, falling by a 4-3 score. The 22nd-ranked Hoosiers took the doubles point and an early 2-0 lead after Isade Juneau won at number two singles, but the Pack rallied to a 3-2 lead. A win at number five tied it up, but NC State was able to win at number six to close out the victory.

Indiana took the doubles point with wins at number one and two doubles. Juneau and Josh MacTaggart closed out the point with a hard-fought win at number one, winning 8-6.

In singles, Juneau was the first to finish, winning 4-6, 6-1, 6-1 over Dave Thomson at number two, putting IU up 2-0, but three-straight matches went the Wolfpack's way after that. Freshman Daniel Bednarczyk got IU back even with a win at number five, taking down Sean Weber 6-2, 6-4.

With the match tied, Elliott Yee was already down a set to Simon Norenius, and the IU freshman was unable to mount a comeback, falling 6-2, 6-1.

The Hoosiers open their home slate this Wednesday, hosting Kentucky and Wright State at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. ET respectively at the IU Indoor Tennis Center. For complete coverage of all things IU men's tennis, stay tuned to IUHoosiers.com.
