NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Indiana men's tennis (6-6) lost 5-2 playing on the road at No. 33 Vanderbilt (8-3) on Sunday. The Hoosiers won the doubles point and got a victory from Josh MacTaggart at number three singles.

In doubles, Indiana won 8-5 at number three, as Chris Essick and Dimitrije Tasic took down Jeff Offerdahl and Anton Kovrigin. Isade Juneau and Sam Monette then won at number one doubles to clinch the point for the Hoosiers. The IU duo defeated Ryan Lipman and Marc van der Merwe 8-5.

In singles, Vandy came charging back, winning at one, four and five singles to take a 3-1 lead. MacTaggart scored IU's second point with a three-set win over Offerdahl, 6-7, 6-0, 6-2, at number three. MacTaggart has now won six singles matches in a row.

Monette's match against No. 33 Gonzales Austin at number two was the next to finish. Monette lost a tough won in three sets. Monette won 17 games to just 16 for Austin, but the Commodore was able to get the points when they mattered most, winning 2-6, 7-6, 7-5. Vanderbilt also took the win at number six to close out the match.
