ATHENS, Ga.--The No. 9 Georgia women's tennis team (9-1, 3-0 SEC) will host Notre Dame on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. before continuing conference play against Florida and South Carolina this weekend.

Georgia enters the midweek match on a four-match winning streak, having just shut out Mississippi State on Sunday.

MATCH POINTS: Georgia (9-1, 3-0) hosts Notre Dame in a rare mid-week, non conference match on Tuesday at 1 p.m. Georgia is 6-0 all-time versus the Fighting Irish, having won the most recent matchup in 2008, 4-2. The match will be Georgia's third in five days. Georgia is 4-1 vs. teams in the Top-25.

A LOOK AT THE OPPONENT:  Notre Dame (9-4, 1-0) is traveling south for its spring break, coming to Athens before traveling to Birmingham to play UAB and Atlanta to play Georgia Tech. They're coming off a 5-2 loss to No. 2 Duke at home last week. It beat Tennessee, its only common opponent with Georgia, 4-3 in early February. Notre Dame's Britney Sanders is the only ranked singles player at No. 42. Sanders and doubles partner Julie Sabacinski are ranked No. 38 in the doubles rankings.

LAST TIME OUT: Last weekend, Georgia stayed home and completed a weekend sweep of No. 50 Ole Miss and Mississippi State. On the weekend, Georgia went 5-1 in doubles and 11-1 in singles, and is now the only SEC East team that is undefeated in conference play.

TOP DOGS: Georgia is No. 9 in the latest ITA team poll, and has four ranked singles players and three ranked doubles pairs. Sophomore Lauren Herring and junior Maho Kowase anchor the top of the Bulldog lineup. Herring, who earned SEC Freshman of the Year honors in 2012, is ranked ninth nationally sporting a 26-4 record this year. The 15th-ranked Kowase has a 25-7 record. Freshman Silvia Garcia (No. 97) and junior Kate Fuller (No. 116) have been playing in the three and four spots. Fuller is 19-5 this year while Garcia is 12-1 and the winner of seven straight.

In doubles, Fuller and Garcia, who are 11-0 this season, cracked the top ten in the latest rankings, and are the highest ranked Bulldog tandem at the No. 9 spot.  Fuller is also ranked with Herring (No. 20). Kowase and Lilly Kimbell are ranked No. 34 with a 9-2 record.

KEEPING IT FRESH: Three freshmen have had stellar starts to their Bulldog careers. After ITA National Team Indoors, Silvia Garcia was named to the All-Tournament Team and garnered SEC women's tennis Freshman of the Week honors. She now sports a 12-1 record in singles and a 11-0 in doubles record. She came in at No. 9 in the ITA Top-60 doubles rankings with junior Kate Fuller and cracked the top-100 in the singles rankings at No. 97.

The freshmen duo of Mia King and Makenzie Craft have teamed up in doubles and have been solid at the No. 3 spot, going 2-1, including a dominating 8-0 win on Sunday. The duo has also been clutch in singles on courts 5 and 6. King has clinched two matches for Georgia at No. 5 while compiling a 6-2 record. Craft picked up her first match clincher on Sunday, and is 5-1 at the No. 6 spot so far this spring.

SPRING BREAK?: As most of the UGA campus has left Athens for spring break, the Georgia women's tennis team will play five matches over the nine days, including four teams in the Top-50. Georgia's matchup against Notre Dame is the third of the five-match stretch.

ON DECK: This weekend, Georgia will be traveling to Gainesville and Columbia for two critical SEC road matches against No. 5 Florida and No. 35 South Carolina.

DID YOU KNOW? Georgia is one of three schools to have both its women's and men's tennis programs currently ranked in the top 10. The Georgia men's team is ranked No. 9. The others are Duke and UCLA.
