MONTGOMERY, Ala.  - The Boise State men's tennis team will take part in the Blue Gray National Tennis Classic this weekend Friday, March 15 - Sunday, March 17. The Broncos will face No. 38 Nebraska in the opening round, Friday at 4 p.m. CT before seeing either No. 22 Notre Dame or Troy in the second round, Saturday.

In the Rankings - Junior Andy Bettles is currently ranked the 25th-best singles player in the nation after a 7-3 fall season and a 10-4 record so far this spring. Bettles has played all 12 matches in this spring at the No. 1 spot, nine of which have been against ranked opponents.
 
Scouting No. 38 Nebraska - The Cornhuskers are 7-4 this season and are coming off a 5-2 loss against No. 18 Northwestern. Seven of the team's 11 matches have been against ranked opponents thus far, tallying a 4-3 record in those contests.
 
Scouting the Field - The field is made up of No. 22 Notre Dame, No. 29 Cornell, No. 34 Columbia, No. 38 Nebraska, No. 47 Texas Tech, Troy and William & Mary and Boise State. Each of the eight teams are guaranteed three matches, one each day.
 
Bettles on Fire - After starting the season 1-3, Andy Bettles has won nine of his last 10 matches during which he has beat three ranked opponents.
 
Bettles Named Player of the Week - Junior Andy Bettles has twice been named Mountain West Men's Tennis Player of the Week, first on Feb. 13 and most recently, March 13. Bettles has now received the award three times in his career and joins San Diego State's Thorsten Bertsch as the only two players to receive the honor twice this season.
 
Early Schedule - Boise State faces a grueling stretch in the early going of the 2013 season. The Broncos have already faced No. 14 Cal, No. 35 Santa Clara twice and No. 23 Washington, No. 44 Minnesota and No. 35 Louisville, No. 26 San Diego and No. 70 San Diego State. In total the Broncos faced eight ranked opponents in-a-row, all on the road from Jan. 25-Feb. 23.
 
No Place Like Home - Boise State owns a 23-match home win streak after going a perfect 19-0 at home last season. The last Bronco loss in Boise came during the WAC Championships in 2011 in a 4-3 defeat against Fresno State.
