BERKELEY - California had a slightly tougher go of it on Saturday against No. 69 Utah, but just as on Friday against Colorado, the No. 13 Golden Bears trounced their Pac-12 Conference opponent, 7-0, on Saturday at the Hellman Tennis Complex. The Bears improved their record to 10-4 (4-0 in the Pac-12), while the Utes fell to 7-6 (1-4 Pac-12).

Third-ranked Zsofi Susanyi played and won her first singles match since returning from injury for the Bears.

The 40th-ranked duo of junior Anett Schutting and freshman Lynn Chi defeated No. 21 Tereza Bekerova and Paige Miles, 8-5, on court one to open doubles play, and then seniors Tayler Davis and Annie Goransson clinched the doubles point with an 8-2 victory over Callie Craig and Sarah Pham on court three. To wrap up doubles play, freshman Klara Fabikova paired with junior Kelly Chui - Fabikova's second different doubles partner in two days - to beat Natasha Smith and Elena Najera-Salas, 8-3, on court two.

"This team was a little bit stronger than the team we played yesterday, as expected," Cal head coach Amanda Augustus said. "Doubles-wise, our goal was to be as consistent as we were yesterday, and I think we did that. That's the big takeaway."

In singles, No. 108 Fabikova shut out an opponent for the second consecutive day when she beat Smith, 6-0, 6-0, this time on court four, and then Goransson topped Kovarcikova, 6-2, 6-2, on court five to give Cal a 3-0 lead. On court two, the 57th-ranked Chi secured the match for the Bears with a 6-3, 6-1, victory over Pham.

Cal tacked on the final three points when junior Alice Duranteau beat Miles, 6-3, 1-6, 1-0(10-1), on court six, Susanyi - playing on court three - worked through a 6-4 first set and then settled down to take the second set 6-0 and win the match, and just moments later No. 9 Schutting posted a 6-3, 7-5, win over No. 70 Bekerova on court one to complete the Bears' 7-0 result.

Susanyi - who played solely in doubles in Cal's win over Colorado on Friday - just played in singles against the Utes.

"It was so much different than doubles because it was just me out there," Susanyi said. "I'm so happy I won because I was able to find a way to win a match."

"I was pretty happy with what they did," Augustus said of her Bears. "This Utah team competed harder (than Friday's opponent) on pretty much every court. Even though the score looks the same, I think we were pushed a little bit more today. I was happy to see the girls rise to the challenge mentally."

The Bears return to action when they play in Los Angeles against No. 6 USC on March 29 and at No. 4 UCLA on March 30.
