BOISE, Idaho – Coming off a 7-0 sweep of conference foe, New Mexico, Monday, the Boise State men’s tennis team will look to keep its hot streak going when it hosts UC Santa Barbara and Utah State this week. The Broncos will start with UC Santa Barbara, Thursday at noon before playing Utah State, Friday at 1:30. Both matches will take place at the Appleton Tennis Center with parking for each of the matches will be available in the West Stadium Lot.

In the Rankings - The Broncos dropped two spots in the latest ITA Rankings and are now No. 46 in the nation this week despite winning two matches over the weekend and one against No. 56 New Mexico.
Junior Andy Bettles is currently ranked the 29th-best singles player in the nation after a 7-3 fall season and a 16-4 record so far this spring. Bettles has played all 20 matches this spring at the No. 1 spot, nine of which have been against ranked opponents.
Scouting UC Santa Barbara – The Gauchos are 6-5 this season with only a 1-4 record when playing on the road. UCSB has a couple of hot players entering the weekend as sophomore Ziad Sultan has won his last six singles matches at the No. 4 position. Senior Benjamin Recknagel has also been on a streak of his own with four-straight singles wins split between the No. 2 and No. 3 positions.
Scouting Utah State – Utah State is currently 5-7 overall for the spring season and 0-1 in Western Athletic Conference play. Leading the Aggies this weekend will be senior Sven Poslusny who is currently 8-3 in the No. 1 singles position.
Bettles on Fire - After starting the season 1-3, Andy Bettles has won 15 of his last 16 matches during and is now riding a 10-match win streak.
Player of the Week – Sophomore Garrett Patton was named Mountain West Player of the Week, March 20, after going 4-0 at the Blue Gray Tennis Classic. Patton won two singles matches and two doubles matches with partner Scott Sears.
Junior Andy Bettles has twice been named Mountain West Men’s Tennis Player of the Week, first on Feb. 13 and most recently, March 13. Bettles has now received the award three times in his career and joins San Diego State’s Thorsten Bertsch as the only two players to receive the honor twice this season.
No Place Like Home – Boise State owns a 26-match home win streak after going a perfect 19-0 at home last season. The last Bronco loss in Boise came during the WAC Championships in 2011 in a 4-3 defeat against Fresno State.
