COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The seventh-ranked women's tennis team dropped a 4-3 decision to No. 4 Texas A&M on Sunday at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center. With the loss, the Crimson Tide stands at 17-3 on the season and 9-2 in the Southeastern Conference, while the win brings the Aggies to 18-2 overall and 10-1 in the league.

Texas A&M would pick up the first win in doubles on court three, however Alabama earned victories on courts one and two to claim the doubles point. On court two, Antonia Foehse and Maya Jansen got off to a quick start, which helped the duo to an 8-5 win over 72nd-ranked Cristina Sanchez-Quintanar and Wen Sun. The matchup on court one was a battle throughout and remained on serve until the Tide's sixth-ranked team of Alexa Guarachi and Mary Anne Macfarlane went up a break to lead 5-4. The Aggies' seventh-ranked team of Stefania Hristov and Cristina Stancu broke back to even the match at 7-7, but Guarachi and Macfarlane would come up big in the end to win the final two games for the 9-7 victory.

In singles, Alabama's Natalia Maynetto dominated Hristov on court six, winning 6-2, 6-1 for her ninth consecutive victory, which put the Tide up 2-0. From there, Texas A&M tied the match at 2-2 with wins on courts one and two. Emily Zabor put the Tide back in front with a 6-2, 7-6(5) victory on court five over Sun, but the Aggies would go on to take the final two matches for the team win.

Alabama will close out the regular season next weekend against Tennessee and No. 3 Georgia. Friday's match against the Volunteers is slated for 3 p.m. CT, while Sunday's match versus the Bulldogs will begin at 1 p.m. CT.
