LOS ANGELES, Calif.— The No. 43 University of Oregon men’s tennis team fell to the No. 4 USC Trojans 7-0 Friday afternoon in Los Angeles, Calif. Oregon falls to 16-5 overall and 2-3 in conference play, while the Trojans advance to 21-2 overall and 4-0 in the Pac-12.

USC won the doubles portion of the dual match, led by the No. 39 duo of Yannick Hanfmann and Ray Sarmiento who topped Oregon’s No. 56 ranked duo of Robin Cambier and Jeff Mullen 8-3 on Court 1. Max de Vroome and Eric Johnson defeated Daan Maasland and Alex Rovello 8-3 on Court 2, and No. 53 Emilio Gomez and Roberto Quiroz were leading Aaron Clissold and Daniel Sardu 7-4 before the doubles point was decided.

In singles, No. 5 Emilio Gomez defeated Cambier 6-3, 6-4 in the top spot, while No. 11 Sarmiento topped Mullen 6-2, 6-3 on Court 2, and No. 48 Hanfmann beat Maasland 6-2, 6-3 on Court 3. In the fourth spot, No. 34 Quiroz defeated Rovello 6-4, 6-3. Sardu fell to No. 75 Eric Johnson 6-2, 6-1 on Court 5 and Michael Schaeffer dropped his match to No. 90 Jonny Wang 6-0, 6-1 in the final spot.

The Ducks return to action Saturday as they take on the UCLA Bruins in Los Angeles, Calif. The match begins at 1 p.m. A full recap with statistics from each match will be available following action from the road on the UO athletics website, www.goducks.com.
