LOS ANGELES, CALIF. -- The No. 4 USC men's tennis team was near unstoppable today in a Pac-12 clash with No. 43 Oregon. The Trojans rolled up a smooth and speedy 7-0 win over the visiting Ducks at Marks Stadium to tally USC's 21st win of the year. USC's rapid-fire victories blasted the Trojans through doubles and continued on through singles. Ray Sarmiento hammered home the clincher from court two to give the Trojans a 21-2 overall record and a clean 4-0 mark in Pac-12 play.

The Trojans made short work of the doubles point in cruising to big leads down the line. First to break through was USC's #39 Hanfmann/Sarmiento on court one with an 8-3 finish. Mirroring that score on court three was USC's de Vroome/Johnson with a capper that put USC up 1-0 on the visiting Ducks.

Singles play saw USC streak to first-set victories across the board. Winning the windsprint to the finish line was USC's #90 Jonny Wang, who was just one game shy of silencing Michael Schaeffer on court six with his 6-0, 6-1 win. At the No. 5 and No. 1 spots, respectively, #77 Eric Johnson and #11 Ray Sarmiento both held match points at the same time. Johnson would punch in the winner first, however. He dropped Daniel Sardu with a 6-2, 6-1 decision for a 3-0 lead to set up Sarmiento with the clincher. After being tangled up at deuce, Sarmiento hammered home the win for the Trojans on a 6-2, 6-3 finish of Jeff Mullen from court two to make it 4-0 Trojans.

At the top spot, #5 Emilio Gomez set himself up to serve for the match with a break to lead Robin Cambier 6-3, 5-4. WIth that opportunity in-hand, Gomez made the most of it and drilled out the next string of points to win it 6-3, 6-4. Following in his footsteps with a late break to charge up a key lead, #48 Yannick Hanfmann was closing in, too. He was just a breath away from finishing it off, but his teammate Roberto Quiroz wrapped up his match on court four first, taking out Alex Rovello with a 6-2, 6-4 decision to make it 6-0. One final blast from Hanfmann was all it took to wrap up the day's action, as his booming strike against Daan Maasland pinned up a 6-4, 6-3 win to notch the sophomore's 16th consecutive singles win.

The Trojans now turn to face No. 31 Washington tomorrow (April 13) at 1 p.m. at Marks Stadium for USC's final regular-season home match of the year. The Trojans wrap the regular season next week at rival UCLA at 3 p.m. on April 19.
