BERKELEY - Eighteenth-ranked California battles No. 42 Stanford in the last regular-season match of the season on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Taube Tennis Center down on the Farm. The Golden Bears have won four straight and bring a record of 12-8 (4-1 in the Pac-12) into the match with the Cardinal (10-9, 3-3 Pac-12).
In a nonconference match with Stanford on Feb. 24 at the Hellman Tennis Complex, Cal defeated the Cardinal, 5-2.

Scouting the Golden Bears
• Cal won twice last week, beating Utah, 6-1, and Arizona, 7-0, at home
• The Bears have a 6-4 record against common opponents with Stanford, including wins over Boise State (4-1), TCU (4-3), Oregon (4-3), Washington (5-2), Utah (6-1) and Arizona (7-0) and losses to USC (7-0), UCLA (6-1 and 5-2) and Pepperdine (4-3)
• Senior Christoffer Konigsfeldt claimed the Pac-12 Player of the Week award last week for his play in wins over Oregon and Washington; junior Ben McLachlan (on March 19) and sophomore Gregory Bayane (March 12) also earned the conference accolade, giving Cal three on the season
• The Bears boast three players ranked in singles by the ITA: No. 37/junior Ben McLachlan, No. 56/junior Campbell Johnson and No. 78 Konigsfeldt

• Morrissey and Denis Lin are ranked 68th in doubles
• Stanford is on a two-match winning streak, with victories over Arizona (6-1) and Utah (5-2) at home in its last two contests

Last Time
Christoffer Konigsfeldt capped his last regular season-match at home with wins in doubles and singles to help propel No. 16 California to a 7-0 rout of Arizona on April 13 at the Hellman Tennis Complex. With their fourth consecutive victory, the Golden Bears improved to 12-8 on the season (4-1 in the Pac-12). The Wildcats fell to 10-12 (0-6 Pac-12).
Prior to the match, Cal honored Konigsfeldt, fellow senior co-captain and senior team manager Moustafa Ismail for their contributions to the Golden Bear program. Saturday was also Jim McManus/Legends Day at Hellman, celebrating the life and career of Cal great Jim McManus.
In doubles, the 31st-ranked duo of Konigsfeldt and junior Campbell Johnson beat Fredrik Ask and Sumeet Shind, 8-5, on court one to clinch the doubles point. Earlier, Cal sophomores Chase Melton and Gregory Bayane easily dispatched the pair of Mario Urquidi and Matt Dunn, 8-1, on court three.
Johnson, ranked 59th, led off singles with a 6-1, 6-1, victory over Shind on court three to give Cal a 2-0 lead, and then freshman Wyatt Houghton knocked off Carlos Bermudez, 6-4, 6-4, on court six. Engsted notched the match-winning point when he topped Naoki Takeda, 6-3, 6-3, on court five to give Cal a 4-0 lead.
Bayane followed with a 6-3, 7-6(4), victory over Urquidi on court four, Konigsfeldt won his court- two match, 6-3, 7-5, over Ask and McLachlan, Cal's 35th-ranked court-one singles star, beat Kieren Thompson, 7-5, 5-7, 1-0(10-6), to wrap up the contest.
