URBANA, Ill. - Boise State tennis junior Andy Bettles will face Yannick Hanfmann of USC in the first round of the NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Singles Championship, Wednesday (May 22) at 1 p.m. CT.
Bettles is currently 40th in the ITA Singles Rankings with a 30-9 overall record and a 23-6 mark this spring, all at the No. 1 spot.
Hanfmann, a sophomore, enters with a 28-6 record with only one of those losses coming during the spring season, playing almost equally at Nos. 2-4 for the Trojans. The German is 45th in the singles rankings.
With a win, Wednesday Bettles would face either Matija Pecotic (Princeton) or Amerigo Contini (Virginia Tech), Thursday.
