Wake Forest assistant men's tennis coach Brett Ross has been selected to be one of the two coaches for the 2013 USTA Collegiate Team.
In his role with the team, Ross will coach six of the top college players in USTA Pro Circuit events around the country this summer.
Administered by the USTA and the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, the USTA Collegiate Team is an elite training program for the nation's best collegians. It is designed to provide college players with valuable exposure to the USTA Pro Circuit in a team-oriented environment. The program began in 1996 and is funded by the USTA.
Current pros who were members of prior USTA Collegiate Teams include: John Isner, Bob and Mike Bryan, James Blake and Steve Johnson.
Ross, a former college standout himself at Wake Forest, recently completed his fourth season as assistant coach of the Demon Deacons. In his playing days, he competed extensively in Pro Circuit events, reaching the Top 500 in the world in doubles and the Top 600 in singles.
