VANCOUVER - For the second year in a row, former Tennessee women's tennis player Natalie Pluskota made it to the doubles finals of the Odlum Brown VanOpen alongside partner Jacqueline Cako.

"It was really great getting back to the finals," said Pluskota. "It is always tough doing that in back-to-back years for the same tournament. We knew what we had to do and fortunately we were able to execute and make it back to the final match. There is nothing better than the opportunity to play for a title."

Pluskota and Cako reached the finals after defeating Erika and Yurika Sema of Japan 6-3, 3-6, 10-8 in the first round, Naomi Broady and Emily Webley-Smith of Great Britain 6-0, 6-1 in the quarterfinals and Stephanie Dubois of Canada and Stephanie Foretz Gacon of France 6-3, 7-5 in the semifinal round.

The duo fell to Sharon Fichman of Canad and Maryna Zarevska of the Ukraine in the finals 6-2, 6-2 on Saturday afternoon.

Pluskota and Cako, who played collegiate tennis at Arizona State, have paired up for the past two seasons reaching the finals of the tournament each year.
