BATON ROUGE – The ITA has announced that former LSU men’s tennis standout Stefan Szacinski has been named a Scholar-Athlete for the past academic year. This is the second time that Szacinski has earned this honor during his four-year career at LSU.

“Stefan put together an outstanding senior year,” head coach Jeff Brown said. “He was a big part of our success on the court by having his best season as a Tiger and he continued to excel within his major.”

Finishing with a 3.75 GPA for the year, Szacinski was also named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll this year as well.

Aside from academic accomplishments, Szacinski had great success on the court this year. Named to the All-SEC Second Team, he went 11-6 in singles play and notched an 11-9 record in doubles dual match play. He ranked as high as No. 87 in singles and No. 33 in doubles with partner Chris Simpson.
