MALIBU, Calif. – The #42-ranked Pepperdine men’s tennis team is NCAA Tournament bound, after learning it received an at-large bid this afternoon. The Waves will travel to Wake Forest in North Carolina to face #21 Florida in the first round on May 8.

Pepperdine is 17-9 on the year, after finishing runner-up to #22 San Diego last week at the West Coast Conference Tournament. The Waves are making their 38th appearance at the NCAA Tournament since 1974.

The Gators are listed at #21 in the ITA rankings and are 14-8 after falling in the quarterfinal round to #18 Mississippi State at the SEC Championship.

Pepperdine and Florida will square off on Friday, May 8 at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex. The #11-ranked Demon Deacons will serve as host and will play George Washington in the opening round, also on Friday.

The winners of both duals will play on Saturday, May 9 in the second round at 12 p.m. (PT)

Pepperdine is 58-35 in its 37 previous appearances at the NCAA Tournament.

The Waves own a 4-3 all-time record vs. Florida. The most recent meeting came in 2013, when Pepperdine topped the Gators by a 4-1 tally at the ITA National Indoor Championships.

The winners from the 16 host sites will converge in Waco, Texas to play out the remainder of the NCAA Tournament on May 14-19. The singles and doubles tournament will immediately follow on May 20-25.

The 64-person NCAA Singles Championship field and 32-team NCAA Doubles Championship fields will be announced via a press release on NCAA.com at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29.
