LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Former UCLA women’s tennis player Jennifer Brady won the singles title at the ITF Pro Circuit’s Rock Hill Rocks Open last weekend.  Brady, the tournament’s No. 6 seed, downed Andrea Gamiz of Venezuela in straights in the championship match.

En route to the final, Brady ousted first-seeded Romina Oprandi of Switzerland in straight sets in the semifinals.  Oprandi, ranked No. 119 in singles, is the highest ranked opponent that Brady has beaten this year.

In Brady’s two seasons at UCLA, she earned All-American honors in both singles and doubles.  As a freshman, she was the Pac-12 Newcomer of the Year and a first-team All-Pac-12 selection.  She ended her freshman campaign ranked No. 8 nationally in singles and she also captured the doubles title at the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships with teammate Robin Anderson.  Brady’s sophomore year, she was a quarterfinalist in the NCAA Singles Draw and posted an 18-4 singles mark.  She was also named to the 2015 USTA Collegiate National Team.
