Five Named to All-Big 12 Teams

Lincoln- Five Nebraska men’s tennis players earned spots on first and second team-academic All-Big 12 teams this week. The five Huskers include first-teamers Christopher Aumueller, Taylor Boney, and Calin Paar, and second-team honorees Benedikt Lindheim, and Andre Stenger.

Christopher Aumueller is the 70th ranked player in the country with a 13-11 record at the No. 1 and 2 spots this spring. This is Aumueller’s second time being named to an All-Big 12 team. Aumueller is majoring in marketing and earned first-team honors.

Paar is 15-12 on the year and has been playing the majority of his matches at the No. 2 spot in the Huskers’ line-up while also seeing time at the No. 1 spot. Paar is majoring in economics and business management major. This is Paar’s third time being named to the All-Big 12 team and his second season in a row earning first-team honors.

Boney is a senior from Lincoln, Neb., is majoring in speech-language pathology and audiology. Boney was named to the Big 12 Commissioner’s honor roll this past fall. Boney earned first-team honors.

Benedikt Lindheim is double majoring in business administration and Spanish and earned second-team honors. Lindheim has a record of 14-10 on the year while going 4-2 in Big 12 action, playing the majority of his matches from the No. 3 spot in the Huskers’ line-up.

Stenger, who is 11-10 playing out of the No. 4 and 5 spots for the Huskers this season, earned second-team academic honors as a business administration major.

First team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA, and the second team are those who have a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.

To qualify student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 60 percent of their team’s scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
