 Piyanart Engineer

Piyanart Engineer will begin her second season at the University of New Orleans as the assistant men's and women's tennis coach.

Engineer came to UNO with a strong foundation of success which started 28 years ago, first as a player at the national level, then a top university student and finally as a national coach. Two of her players went on to achieve a junior world ranking of #20.

Over a 13 year period she has played extensively at the national level, winning a gold medal in the National Junior Games and also won the Silver medal in the Thailand University Games. She truly understands the tennis and study requirements having been in this role as a university student player and will provide valuable assistance to head coach Burzis Kanga through her experience.

Her accomplishments as a coach include ground-breaking work with The Lawn Tennis Association of Thailand, which was the most successful tennis development program in Thailand. Due to her extensive association with Thailand’s players and International coaches, she has an insightful mind for player development, problem solving and managing teams in competition.

As Operations Director of The Tennis Academy of Asia, the largest international tennis academy in Asia, she has bolstered her management skills and operational expertise. Engineer is a USPTA Professional and has attended several international coaches training workshops. She has a Master’s Degree in Arts (Communication) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Law.

Thus far on the Lakefront, she has helped with recruiting players from India, Japan, New Zealand who have played a key role in UNO’s success so far under her watch.
