Prep Career: Played 2 years at Drake High School… went undefeated both year… played 2 years at Tamiscal High School.

04-05 University of San Francisco Senior Pablo Pires De Almeida in his last year on the Hilltop is looking to make his mark on the ITA Collegiate Circuit and achieve a National ranking. Pires De Almeida from Fairfax, CA was awarded the Arthur Ashe Sportsmanship award in May and is the #1 player at USF. He was recently awarded a Wildcard in to the qualifying draw of the Tiburon Challenger. Over his three year career, Pires De Almeida has played primarily at the #1, 2, and 3 spots compiling a 53-31 singles record and a 55-21 doubles record. In 2003 he made it to the finals of the Southern California ITA regional in doubles with his partner Jorgen Arnesen. Personal: Objective for the season is to play #1 and become nationally ranked both in singles and doubles… chose USF for its small campus, location and diversity… best thing about San Francisco is multiplicity of cultures and opportunities… would like to be a musician playing for a huge audience, like Dave Mathews or Ben Harper one day… Best advice is “follow your passions, live without regrets”… favorite quote is “puravida” (live for the day)… biggest sports thrill was to watch Brazil win the World Cup for the 6th time… enjoys surfing, playing the drums, watching movies and learning… favorite sports figure is Gustavo Kuerten… would like to attend the French Open… favorite movie is Meet with Joe Black… Favorite book is Wisdom of Insecurities by Alan Watts… favorite artists are Bob Marley, Dave Mathews, Ben Harper, Jose Neto (Pablo’s father, professional musician)… favorite food is pasta… parents are Jose and Maria Neto… born in Fairfax, September 7, 1982.
